Seeking to Follow Jesus

Yet He Still Loves Me

  • I am a sinner, yet He still loves me.
  • I was His enemy, yet He still loves me.
  • I have rejected Him over and over again through my hardness of heart, my disobedience, my stubbornness and pride, yet He still loves me.
  • I have given other people or other things first place in my life, yet He still loves me.
  • I have excluded Him from my life and activities, yet He still loves me.
  • I have ignored Him, yet He still loves me.
  • I have rejected His gifts, yet He still loves me.
  • I have misjudged His motives, His purposes in my life, yet He still loves me.
  • I have used Him as a scapegoat when it was my own fears that were to blame, yet He still loves me.
  • He has continued to love me when I'm sure it would have been a lot easier to hate me, yet He still loves me.
  • He has forgiven me over and over again, many more times than I could ever deserve. and furthermore, He has set an example for me that I might walk in His steps.

“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?...No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35, 37-39 NLT

Thank you, Lord, for loving me as you do.
