In my lifetime I have had the opportunity to visit a number of foreign countries, and I actually lived for while in two places outside the United States. I have many fond memories of each experience. While having made another country my home temporarily, I was always simply a foreigner just passing through.
There is a saying that says "Home is where your Heart is"...I have found this to be true.
Jesus has my heart, and the truth of God's is evident to me. “For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.” Hebrews 13:14 NLT
But while I'm here, I have discovered true contentment of home and heart comes with the reality of what Jesus says: “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.” John 14:23 NLT
The Father and His Son make their home in me.
There is nothing better than that.
What about you, where's your home?
Better yet, where's your heart?
“Lord, through all the generations you have been our home!” Psalms 90:1 NLT
