“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” Psalms 139:23 NLT
Are you willing to ask the Lord to search you and know what's in your heart? Do you see the connection between the heart and the mind? What eventually settles in the heart begins in the mind. Are you willing to ask Him to test you and know your anxious thoughts as well?
The truth is this is the best way to guard your heart. “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Proverbs 4:23 NLT
Actually, inviting God to know your heart and your thoughts is an act of trust. By acknowledging to yourself that God has access to your heart and mind is in itself a form of protection. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 NLT
Give God permission to give you a heart exam. He can heal it...mend it if it's broken...change it...or even replace it if needed. “And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.” Ezekiel 36:26 NLT
Trust Him with all your heart.
