“But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave.” Matthew 20:25-27 NKJV
Serving others. Why is that so hard for many of us? There are those who truly have what we know as a gift of service. Serving others comes naturally for them. It's what often comes to mind when people think of them. Others of us have to focus and be very intentional in our service to others.
You have probably seen the acrostic for JOY: Jesus, Others, and Yourself. It really is true. When our relational priorities are in line with what God desires for us, we will experience joy in the Lord.
"Yes, joyful are those who live like this! Joyful indeed are those whose God is the Lord ." Psalms 144:15 NLT
