“But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:11-12 NLT
As a man or woman of God, we are to run from the evil things of this world and pursue righteousness...godly living...faith...love...perseverance...and gentleness. In other words, we are running from that which the world offers and running to the things of God.
Do you know which direction you are running or are you simply standing still?
Are you running alone or with others?
Paul later tells Timothy to “run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.” 2 Timothy 2:22 NLT
It's as if Paul was encouraging Timothy to find running partners who are in pursuit of the things of God as well.
Make your life pursuit the things of God.
Find others who are doing the same and enjoy the journey.
