“Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Philippians 1:3-6 NLT

The Apostle Paul had a special bond with the church at Philippi. He saw his relationship with them as a partnership. A partnership forms in  relationships when individuals work together for a common goal and purpose. Paul says, “you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now.”

Paul understood the importance of the church being a partnership centered around sharing with others about what Christ is doing in their lives. As a result, it means ...
  • growing together  provides a foundation for their love to overflow more and more.
  • through accountability to one another they would keep growing...
    • in knowledge and understanding
    • in understanding what really matters
    • in living pure and blameless lives

Paul shared with the body of believers at Ephesus that the church is made full and complete by Christ.

“God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.” Ephesians 1:22-23 NLT

  • We are the church.
  • We are His body.
  • We are partners in spreading the Good News.

Scripture:
Philippians 1:1-11, Ephesians 1:15-23, 2 Peter 1:2-8

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for my partners in the faith...my church. I praise you Father for what you are doing in us and through us. Please continue blessing us as we continue growing together in service to you.    Amen
