Do you ever feel like things in life are coming unraveled? Maybe things aren’t right on the inside because there is something wrong on the outside; the world around you seems to be falling apart.
The truth is it doesn’t have to be some major catastrophic event. It can be the sum of a lot of little things in life that keep piling up, and all of a sudden it seems as if everything is crashing down on you and you don’t know what to do.
We all have those times in our lives when we feel like our life is falling apart; times when we are overwhelmed and things aren’t working out the way we want them. Life can seem like a battle, especially when you are experiencing more defeat than victory.
...So what do you do?
...Where do you turn?
Look to Jesus when things are coming apart; He is the one who holds all things together.
In Colossians 1:15 -17 the Apostle Paul says: “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.”
You were created by God.
King David prayed in Psalm 139:13-18: “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!”
Your life is still in His hands.
Lord Jesus, thank you for creating me…thank you for sustaining me through times when it seems everything around me is falling apart. You are my refuge and strength. Amen
