Seeking to Follow Jesus

Reflections - December 23rd - 29th - Prince of Peace

“For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”  Isaiah 9:6

Jesus is the Prince of  Peace.

Peace…Is it really possible? It seems like we’ve had anything but peace since the world began.

Has there ever been a time in human history where there was world peace?

Remember Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

True peace is found in the Prince of Peace not in the world.

Jesus promised he would leave us peace. He said in John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Jesus has promised us an unimaginable peace; it’s our choice to receive it.

In Philippians 4:6-7 Paul explains it this way: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests by made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

  • God offers us his peace – a peace that surpasses all understanding
  • A peace that cannot be comprehended
  • This is the peace that keeps us anchored when our world is crumbling

Sounds good, doesn’t it.

And don’t forget, if Jesus can bring peace in the midst of raging storms, He can deliver peace in your life no matter what you’re facing.

Experience the unexplainable peace of God…
His name is Jesus - The Prince of Peace.
