“Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.” Hebrews 10:36 NLT
Patient endurance...two words that don't always match up in my life. I often find myself lacking the patience needed to wait on the Lord. However, I am learning that if I will focus on what God is trying to show me instead of what I desire most, I will get a glimpse of the value of patiently waiting on the Lord. There are two keys to patient endurance. The first is Christ himself...“May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.” 2 Thessalonians 3:5 NLT The second key is God's word...“Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.” Romans 15:4 NLT As we endure patiently the testing...the trials...the fulfillment of God's promises, may we rely on Christ in us and God's word to provide the strength to endure. “And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.” Romans 5:4 NLT Bro.
