“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1, 2 NIV
Does it really make a difference as to how we live our lives? God's word says we are to be living sacrifices. Remember the sacrifices we read about in the Old Testament. They were slaughtered and laid on the alter and consumed by fire as a pleasing aroma before God. You and I are to present ourselves (on the altar - so to speak) to God by the manner in which we live. We're to live in obedience to God, not following the ways of the world, but focusing our thoughts on the things of God. In other words, we are not consumed by fire, but by the love of God.
Transformation begins with our thoughts. Think about God's love for you and follow the advice of Paul. "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things." Philippians 4:8 NKJV
Be a pleasing aroma to God today.
