“I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life." (John 5:24 NLT)
Do you remember when you first heard the message of Christ and believed? For some of you it wasn't that long ago. For others like me, it was a long time ago, during your childhood. Frankly, I don't remember a time in my life when I was not aware of who Christ was. However, I do remember the time when I believed what I was hearing.
The first promise offered in this passage asks us to do three things. We must listen, believe and receive. The second promise says that once we have acted on the first promise we will never be condemned for our sins. "So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1 NLT)
If you have received God's forgiveness and understand that there is no condemnation, then you must also forgive yourself. This means there is also no self-condemnation in Christ. If you're walking there today, let it go.
