“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” Hebrews 4:16 NLT
It has often been said that grace is getting something you don't deserve, and mercy is not getting what you do deserve. I don't know about you, but I am so grateful for both.
The grace of God is embodied in His kindness and love for you and me, while we experience His mercy as He withholds the judgement that should be ours. All of this is made possible because of what Jesus has done for us.
“But— When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.” Titus 3:4-5 NLT
“He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.” Ephesians 1:7 NLT
Live today in the certainty of God's mercies.
“The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” Lamentations 3:22-23 NLT
Walk today in the light of His glory and grace.
"Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace." (Helen H. Lemmel, 1922)
