How well are you able to consistently focus your thoughts, mind and spirit on the things of God?
I admit that I can get easily distracted and lose focus in my spiritual life. My thoughts can easily become consumed with things of the past or worry and concern for tomorrow. I have to be intentional in focusing my thoughts toward the Lord as I go through each day.
The Apostle Paul says it well: “I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” Philippians 3:12-14 NLT
Forgetting the past...looking forward with anticipation to what lies ahead...pressing on...moving forward...to the end of this race...this life...to reach the goal...to receive the prize...Jesus.
Living today with focused attention.
Focusing on Jesus.
