"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NLT
What does it mean to engage people? It involves confronting, comforting, sharing and investing yourself in the lives of others: believers as well as non-believers. We are called to meet the needs of others; physically, emotionally and spiritually. The bottom line is to do what Jesus did. Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father." ...To live like Jesus ...To love like Jesus ...To lead others to do the same. It's much easier to say than to do. In fact, it's impossible to do under your own power. That's why Jesus said, "you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you." It's by power of the Holy Spirit that's within you that you'll be able to engage people. simply His, Bro. Joe

Jeremiah 29:11-14 says, "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you," says the Lord. "I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land."
What a wonderful promise from God. God has a plan for your life. God has a plan for our church. The challenge that we have as individuals as well as the church as a whole is to discover, follow and obey the plan that God has for us. Perhaps it would be better viewed not as a challenge, but as an opportunity. An opportunity to see and experience the hand of God at work in and through us. Can you see it? Do you long for it? Let me encourage you to keep seeking God's plan and remember, "Trust in the lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take." Proverbs 3:5-6 simply His, Bro. Joe |
