Have you recently found yourself asking the question “Why me?” Maybe you’re going through difficulties or pain that you don’t understand. If so, remember the words of Christ: "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NLT.
Jesus said, “you will have many trials and sorrows”. What you’re dealing with today may very well be proving this true in your life. Troubles exist…sickness exist…pain exist…we live in a fallen world. But Jesus says we can have peace in Him. Why? Because He has overcome the world. So, how should you deal with your circumstances? You begin by focusing on your Savior not your circumstances. He has told you that He has overcome the world. Walk in His victory. Next, trust in His plan…look for His purpose and see how He wants to use you and what you’re going through to bring glory to Himself. Do you want to experience true peace in Him? Walk out your faith knowing that your victory is in Jesus. Remember, Jesus said: “take heart, because I have overcome the world.” Bro. Joe Questions for Reflection:

Do you recognize the difference in simply talking about something and then doing what you are talking about? In others words walking the talk…the balance of word and deed in our Christian life.
The church is pretty good at talking. When we gather as the body of Christ, that’s kind of what we do. We talk about the word of God and the things of God…We talk to one another and we talk to Him. Even our singing is a verbal expression meant to encourage, inspire and motivate us. I love it. I think it is great. It’s powerful and I look forward to each time we gather. However, the church exists between gatherings. You and I are the church…the body of Christ…and we are reminded in 1 Corinthians 4:20: “For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power.” You see, the church itself cannot exist apart from God’s power. The Bible offers us examples of men and women who lived out their lives under God’s power. The greatest example we find is Jesus himself. He understood who He was and accepted the authority given to Him and He lived by God’s power. You may be thinking: But I’m not Jesus. True…yet, you have the power of Christ within you to live like Jesus…love like Jesus…and lead others to do the same. Bro. Joe Questions for Reflection:
This Week’s Suggested Readings: Sunday - 1 Corinthians 4:20 Monday -Philippians 2:6-11 Tuesday - John 17:1-3 Wednesday - Acts 1:8 Thursday - Matthew 28:18-20 Friday - Matthew 8 Saturday - Romans 10:9-10 Prayer Lord, I fight a daily battle of fully surrendering my life to you. I seem to try and take control of circumstances and situations instead of relying on your power and strength to see me through. Forgive me. Help me to learn through Jesus’ example of complete and total trust in your power to see Him all the way to the cross. There truly is nothing that I will face that you can’t see me through. Lord, I want to live by your power. Amen ![]() What is your level of pain? 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 ”even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” In the medical world, you may see this statement in clinics and hospitals: “You have the right to pain management.” In the spiritual world, we better understand that pain management in life is a gift…it is the sufficiency of God’s grace.
