“You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.” Hebrews 3:13 NLT
"The Lord rules over the floodwaters..." Psalm 29:10 God literally controlled the floodwaters in the time of Noah. “Yes, I am confirming my covenant with you. Never again will floodwaters kill all living creatures; never again will a flood destroy the earth.” Genesis 9:11 NLT
He also controls the floodwaters of judgement in your life and mine. We have a part in determining whether these floodwaters are released or not. “Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the LORD.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time, that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment.” Psalms 32:5-6 NLT
The penalty for our sin was paid by Jesus Christ! “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Our part is to pray and confess our sins before the Lord. Keep a short accounting with God. When we recognize sin in our lives, we should immediately deal with it by confessing our sin and seeking God's forgiveness. “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” 1 John 1:9 NLT
It has been said that confession is good for the soul. But it is not merely therapeutic; it is God’s prerequisite for forgiveness.
