“The one thing I ask of the LORD — the thing I seek most— is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.”
Psalms 27:4 NLT
What is the one thing you ask of the Lord? What's the thing you seek the most?
Have you ever stopped and given thought to these two questions?
David's desire was to...
...live in the house of the Lord
...delight in the Lord's perfections
...meditate in His temple
David certainly saw these priorities as a refuge, a place of reflection and peace. He goes on to say, “For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock.” Psalms 27:5 NLT
David then makes a statement that indicates God responds His earlier declaration. “Hear me as I pray, O LORD. Be merciful and answer me! My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “ LORD, I am coming.”” Psalms 27:7-8 NLT
His heart is responding.
How about your heart? Are you ready to respond?
Declare to God the priorities you seek most in your relationship with Him.
Then listen to what He says.
I believe He's ready to talk.
