Doing that which pleases the Lord should be a priority for the believer. Paul admonished the church at Ephesus to “Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.” Ephesians 5:10 NLT
Our actions are often predicated by what we say and what we think. The desire to keep our words and thoughts in line with what pleases the Lord marks the beginning of obedience.

Set you heart on pleasing the Lord by guarding what you say and think. “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:8 NLT
